ACCAN App Safety Project

One of the most common questions we get asked is “Which DFV apps can I recommend to my clients?”

In the past few years, a plethora of safety apps have been developed specifically for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

WESNET with partners including Western Sydney University, have been funded by ACCAN to impartially review and assess these mobile safety apps in order to expand our App Safety Centre, so that survivors (and the front-line workers who support them) can confidently choose an app that works best for them.

Throughout this project, the Safety Net Team will work closely with developers to ensure survivor privacy – endeavouring to improve the quality, impact, and ultimate safety of new apps being developed.

But first, we’d like to hear from you about the apps you are encountering, recommending and using and so we have set up a survey to better understand the use of mobile DFV safety apps amongst frontline workers dealing with survivors of domestic violence.

Results from this survey will assist the WESNET team in selecting relevant personal Safety Apps for our Safety App review project and will take no more than 5 minutes to complete.

We look forward to keeping you abreast of the ACCAN App Safety Project and ultimately, providing you and your clients with another valuable resource.
